I’ve had a job since I was nine
years old and have done a lot of different types of work from being a
ball boy
at a tennis club to flipping burgers at Jack in the Box when I was in
high
school.
My first electrical job was in Hollywood, California in 1980 and my task was to demo live 277V circuits in a commercial building where a recording studio was going to be built. I learned how to use an electrical tester pretty fast. Later I learned how to do rough and finish electrical work from a Master Electrician. Through the years after that I learned how to tape and mud, framing, sheetrock, plumbing, roofing, stucco, concrete and concrete forms and more electrical. At one point I had my own little Handyman Company in which I had a lot of fun working on high end homes around Southern California. As an electrician I worked on residential, commercial and industrial projects around Los Angeles, California. I think that I enjoyed the industrial more because I got to work with a lot of different types of machines from all over the world and I got to see how things were made. I ended up in Las Vegas, NV for a retail sales job that I was interested in for fun. Somebody found out that I had electrical experience and next thing you know I’m being interviewed about an Electrical Estimator position that was open at the time. Well, I’ve been doing that ever since and I’ve loved every minute of it. Its has been a learning experience and in the last several years I have learned a lot about my responsibility as an Estimator not only to my company but to the General Contractors and their clients. Here at Century Electric, I’m proud to say, that this is an honest place to work and that’s one of the big reasons that I work here. I will not work for, or with, dishonest people. I have no patience or time for it. You should have us look at your next project. We will treat you fairly. All the best, Cody Lee |
